Babcia Lidia passed away…

A few days ago we received the information that my grandma Lidia, the mother of my father, passed away. She was 86 years old. She spent a last few days of her life in a hospital, not feeling well and not being very concious of what was happening around her.

I am happy that we visited her during last Christmas and saw her still in a pretty good condition. I took a number of photographs then which I would like to share with you. You can see the history of her life on her face. The photos are not very happy. She missed her husband, who passed away more than ten years ago, she felt lonely, she was no very healthy. I wonder what we see in her eyes…

You can also see my last photo with her. I added it to the album because it is very confronting. You can see very clearly that she was much older than me. I also wonder if I ever will turn 86?

Babies, Grannies and Grandpas

First of all, Happy New Year to all of you! 7 is a lucky number and we will hopefully get a chance to live happily and luckily through 2007!

Traditionally, we spent this year’s Christmas in Poland. We visited a few friends (why is it always so busy when we arrive to Warsaw???), spent a few days at the table eating all the Polish Christmas specialties. I miss the food so I really enjoy it every time I am there! Moreover, we visited my grandma who lives in Katowice, in the Southern Poland.

On the way back we dropped by Grzes (my cousin), Emma (his girlfriend) and Marek (their son, our new nephew). They live in Berlin.

I wouldn’t be myself if I did not take most of the opportunities to make some photos. I would like to present them to you below. It is a compliation of the youngest and oldest generation in our family and friends group. The time flies by – let’s try to enjoy it all together! And if we forget to do that, feel free to remind us about it. It is actually our new year’s resolution – a mix of carpe diem, work hard and try to relax even harder.
